Event Summary
The Employment Rights Act 2025 is bringing significant changes to the workplace, with further reforms due to take effect in 2027. With new rights, protections, and employer responsibilities already in force or still to come, organisations across Wales need to understand what’s changing, when it applies, and what they need to do now.
Bringing together legal experts, industry leaders and employers from across Wales, Policy Insight Wales’s Employment Rights Act Wales Conference in Cardiff will explore what the reforms mean in practice and how to prepare your organisation for what comes next. From day-one family rights and unfair dismissal protections to guaranteed hours and changes to zero-hours contracts, the Act will reshape how organisations manage their workforce.
Understand what the reforms mean for you from gender equality action plans, flexible working requests, changes to probation periods, redundancy processes, and fire and rehire practices. We will explore where employment policies, contracts, and procedures may need to change.
The conference will go beyond the headlines to focus on implementation, spotlighting how to update employment contracts and staff handbooks, prepare managers for new responsibilities, and put robust processes in place. Hear from legal experts and industry leaders about the challenges employers are facing, the approaches that work, and the steps you can take to prepare. Understand the role and remit of the Fair Work Agency in enforcing employment rights, minimum standards, and fair working practices.
Tackling workplace harassment will also be a key focus. TUC Cymru research shows that 46% of workers in Wales have experienced sexual harassment at work. Explore what more needs to be done to prevent harassment, and what the strengthened duty on employers to take all reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment means for your organisation.*
Do you have questions about what reforms will mean for your organisation? Don’t miss the opportunity to put your questions to industry leaders through our legal surgery and interactive panel discussions.
Join business leaders, HR professionals, and senior leaders to gain expert insight and practical implementation guidance. Leave with clarity on the next phase of ERA reform.
