Event Summary
The full potential of women is yet to be unleashed in workplaces across Wales. Organisations have made steady progress but there is more work to be done to create a truly equal Wales.
Join Policy Insight Wales this December for our inaugural Women at Work Wales Conference. We will explore the next steps to tackle the barriers to gender equality in the workplace. Find our about new legislation to protect women in the workplace and support women to remain and progress within work and achieve their full potential.
Through a mix of enlightening keynote sessions, cross-sector panel discussions and award-winning case studies, our expert speakers will explain how they overcame cultural barriers and organisational structures to improve female representation in leadership and develop emerging female talent.
You will gain a legislative update covering UK employment law. Large employers are expected to be required to develop, publish, and implement action plans to close their gender pay gaps. The Government has published its Employment Rights Bill. Learn about the proposals to enhance family leave rights, increase flexible working, extend parental leave, and support employees going through the menopause at work. We will outline your legal responsibilities following the introduction of new flexible working laws in April 2024 and new rights to protect employees from redundancy during pregnancy, maternity and parental leave.
Find out how you can design family friendly policies, such as flexible working, enhanced parental leave, and additional childcare provision, that will help you to retain female talent and increase gender equality in the workplace.
Employers must ‘wise up’ on women’s health. Women have complex and varying health concerns that will manifest throughout their working lives. This includes the menopause, endometriosis, menstrual health, fertility and IVF treatment, pregnancy, and miscarriage. Learn how to develop supportive and compassionate environments at work, leading to increased retention and productivity, and organisational success.
We will learn about the new legal duty for employers to stop sexual harassment before it starts and to respond effectively to incidents when they occur. With four in five women in Wales saying they have experienced sexual harassment in the workplace on at least one occasion*, how do we create and maintain workplaces that are free from harassment?
Join us in Cardiff this December for the opportunity to learn from trailblazing organisations from across Wales and to hear from inspiring women who have navigated the world of business as a female leader. Network with colleagues and take the next steps to becoming a truly inclusive employer.
