Policy Insight Wales is pleased to share advance notice of our inaugural Equality in the Workplace Wales Conference, taking place in Cardiff in July.
Welsh workplaces are rich with talent from diverse backgrounds. But what are the next steps for employers to ensure equality at work?
Covering gender equality, anti-racism, LGBTQ+ inclusion, neuro-inclusion, age diversity, menopause and disability rights across Wales, this timely conference will offer practical guidance to help you build more equitable organisations.
We will explore workplace equality in a changing policy landscape – including an update on the Welsh Government’s Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan, the LGBTQ+ Action Plan post-Election and what the near policy environment will mean for inclusion in Wales.
The Employment Rights Act is now law with the implementation phased over 2026 and 2027. The Act will strengthen laws on discrimination, harassment, equal pay, and workplace rights. It will introduce Equality Action Plans, new pay gap reporting measures, extended family-friendly and flexible-working rights, and enhanced protections for pregnancy and maternity. Gain practical guidance on how to update you workplace policies and train staff in light of these changes. Make sure your organisation is prepared to implement future changes.
You will hear from policymakers, public service providers, business leaders, and speakers with lived experience. Sessions will explore policy and training, pay gap reporting, data collection and monitoring, inclusive recruitment and progression, and leadership engagement.
Don’t miss the chance to connect with colleagues from across Wales, share ideas and take away practical actions to deliver equal opportunities in your workplace.

The Conference will take place at the Cardiff Marriot Hotel. Attend this full-day event in person to network, build relationships and learn from your peers.
This event is wheelchair accessible and a hearing loop will be available. Please let us know about your access requirements one week before the event.
